Crazy good, glad to see this setting get this level of treatment. Gorgeous and violent with a great understanding of the themes of the genre. Manages to be edgy and at times brutal without feeling hollow or like it’s just for shock. Big recommend.

Carvanha is in my top 20 Pokémon, it is such a cool design.
The red and blue contrast looks great and refers to the game titles/themes. Plus, it’s an intimidating piranha with sharp fins. That’s so cool 😅
Over the course this series had it was rife with storytelling issues, with narrative inconsistencies and a lot of underused characters not receiving more of a focus. Still, early on this arc writing-wise was still exceptional with emotional pathos and tackled some heavy themes.

Mano paints with very loose brushstrokes, creating textures that are evocative of the expressionist's brushwork. The style really goes well with the unsettling themes of their work!
