One of the most memorable stories I heard in my childhood was Urashima Taro. It has haunted me ever since. Yet when I started studying Finnish folklore i was amazed to discover stories with extremely similar themes.

Themes a little on the nose, but they're juvenile as characters so it still works.

Not really a strange question, I've worked as a fishmonger for over three years.
I just generally like nautical themes now but I'm not gonna draw ECLUSIVELY fish stuff in any picture. Except if the fish is sexy.
