how you use a reference will determine how you grow as an artist. are you learning the shapes or are you just copying line for line? the more you learn forms the more likely you will be able to freehand and experiment

I found out today someone has been tracing and copying my art for almost a year now. They've betrayed my trust form inspiration over a piece to BASICALLY thinking they have permission to trace my art.

This, mind you, is wrong & disrespectful as an artist

No one asked but I wanted to point out the 4 things that shaped my artstyle the most while growing up in order. When I was a kid most of my drawings were geometrical with round corners and then moved to copying pokemon. Then I played Solatorobo and uh, I got stuck at furry stuff.
