I’ve had this image in my head all weekend, so I had to draw it. Even if Essek didn’t actually lean into Caleb’s touch I bet he wanted to and he’s going to dream about it for some time.

I recorded that Essek star piece as a timelapse because I wanted to see if I had any kind of consistent process when I paint. Turns out... nope! Enjoy :)

Hello Essek Thelyss fanclub, I bring you a treat. I don’t draw often but I was recently inspired and I whipped this out super fast.

Art challenge - 1 hour without reference. 1 hour with reference featuring Essek.

Uhhhhhh. Reference is key. My poor first attempt looks so old!!!

Breathe.

🎶Whenever I'm alone with you
You make me feel like I am free again
Whenever I'm alone with you
You make me feel like I am clean again🎶

Tried to get that feeling of paranoia/fear down.

When Jester mentioned using the transmogrification spell on Essek I directly went "Firbolg Essek Now" and I just love the idea of him refusing to let go of the ~aesthetic~ and being the most drow-looking, suspicious firbolg on Exandria.

Last night's stream inspired me to draw an Opal tiefling version of Essek.
