Also personal theory/speculation, Shalamayne is actually a Draconic-Titan sword, forged during the War of the Ancients and given to the Night Elves. Its origins aren't really known for *who* crafted it, just that it was wielded/named by night elves (similar to the other blades).
I wonder if in Dragonflight we'll see the return (or uprez) of dragon / elemental-related blades of legend, such as Quel'Delar and Quel'Serrar. Quel'Serrar in particular has a pretty old model and never has been uprezzed before.

Knives in comic books
The X-Men really plays with the idea. Gambits playing cards, and then with *handleless* blades with Longshot. Notice both just throw them, rather blindly, like throwing stars.
What is the most aesthetically pleasing weapon in Genshin and why is it Childe's hydro blades
@LEEGE0N_ @honjaseoda Should these blades grace the viper's skin, he'd be exposed to atrocious heat reminiscent of a bed of lava. (With the addition of the Void's primordial power, regeneration becomes null.)

@FlywheelKnot Ultimate Dancouga's new finisher is basically Dancouga Nova's finisher in both pose and concept (extra blades coming from the wing part get attached to the Dancouken)
I had an interesting shower thought about Wulfric from #xenoblade2
Blades take on the appearance and data from their surroundings, Wulfric is by far the most alien looking one in the game and has trouble socializing to boot-
