if you were to synthesize all of these design motifs into a single Pokemon to represent all of Gen 1, you might end up with something like this:
I'll call it Bandaron. (if anyone with artistic skill wants to re-draw this, please be my guest)
Before we move on to another large category, here's a few small ones - red, bulbous noses! rocky, bumpy shells!
They're not huge, overarching design trends, but it's noticeable that these motifs rarely pop up in future generations.
Butterfree and Venonat are alike in SO many ways, including their eyes. We might revisit this pair later, as an example of repetition of design motifs going so far as to be distracting.

The motif is camellia. https://t.co/YBsZPiWBQZ
Day 11: Best Season Theme
Best motif theme: KKPCALM & Suite
Best message theme: Hugtto & Healin' Good
On the subject of former popes returning... While it's best not to rely on shirt designs as basis for lore (they're often designs the artists came up with on their own), Copia with 3 skeletons had, suspiciously, been a recurring motif for years 😗
Fairy Market" is a collection based on the motif of a shopping street where fairies live.
This piece is a special menu that we recently sold for the first time in our offer system.

@FabricatedToast No it's definitely a similar, if not the same motif! In fact, you can see them on most weapons in the trailer. Even the main Keves' metal-face / mechon has it.
Ive heard some people say that they think nucle was gonna be evil because of the whole radioactive/nuclear reactor motif she got on her, funny knowing shes singlehandedly the nicest oct i have, and surprisingly the one that has caused the least deaths, like irl nuclear plants! https://t.co/NVFI2UV795
@75PercentSpite No listen Mokou's great. Her whole thing is that she has a centuries-old grudge against a former Princess of the Moon, and they're both immortal, so they just keep killing each other and coming back. It's very gay
Also she has a phoenix motif and looks like This
Guettez ce qui arrive (oui je repousse le plus possible le moment où je vais devoir faire tous les petits motifs de la chemise)
I worked with @yeyuelovesnow to design a new style for Akilina! Those who know me know that I love the shave style, so we designed this.
Akilina’s name means “eagle”, so I looked up the eagle native to Russia and designed this motif based on it. The wings are key!!

The oldest picture here is from 2009
It hasn't escaped how creepy it on some level I've this basic image of a fox girl with long, dark hair in my mind to the extent of being a motifs in my character design
One character in particular I've never publicly named
Maybe interesting? The Agnus/Gormotti aesthetics we've seen use a red-knot motif that resemble the Japanese agemaki knot, a decorative tassel used on samurai armours. Nia in Xenoblade 2 did NOT use this motif; her red knots were the simple "bunny ear" style. #XenobladeChronicles3
