usually, i simplify characters a lot, in order to make them easier to draw and then focus on the animation work. i try to draw them with super simple shapes and volumes, and reduce the amount of details as i can !

Gave Fafnir a fresh coat of paint (old on left, new on right)!

I swapped his fins to make him able to turn himself in any direction and remain symmetrical, and gave his little face tentacles additional eyeballs for goofiness factor, plus some additional simplifying + color addon

Was going to be him using Heavy Eruption but couldn’t simplify his design or do a fullbody and messed it up, so it’s just a halfbody. 😔

In case you didn't know, there are two games in the series that lack that Atelier title - Mana Khemia 1+2.
Similar to Iris, these games dial back time management and simplify the alchemy - adventure is the main focus here, and it's pretty great!
