This is very failed and left me frustrated. Especially the values and the lack of simple but consistent shapes that tell the construction and forms, not to mention the colors.
Tired, really disappointed. I need to rest for a while and think of a new way to practice and improve...

I usually do a quick digital colour study to decide on values & colour palette, which I then check against my watercolour swatches before starting on the painting.

I honestly forgot how fun it was to paint in color. Still not great at deciding on palettes on the fly, but I think that working on those grayscale pieces helped a lot on my understanding of values here.
