When I started writing Sanguine a big inspiration for him were plague doctors and general quackery of medieval medicine.

But I wanted to put a spin on it that despite them being "illegitimate" they were still very effective.

The animation carries so hard it's back must hurt. The writing and characters are pretty basic and the story is lacking a real driving force partly due to its episodic nature, but it's pretty quick to get through and episode 9 is the highlight.
