The odd thing with C64 Barbarian was that the player graphics were almost entirely character-based. (Only the breast-plate and goblin were sprites? Maybe the blood too.) 🙂 So, apart from converting the sound, there wasn't much else to do. (I say, not having programmed it.) 😋

The controls are exactly the same on the C64 and Amiga versions. (They were programmed by the same guy, so the gameplay is identical .. the only difference in the Amiga version is the addition of a second bonus stage.)

The Way of the Exploding Fist is a great one-on-one fighting game, but check out those character shadows! The attention to detail in conveying perspective and position relative to the character is extremely impressive for the time. Great work by Beam!

Game Ending

Dylan Dog: Gli uccisori -

This game has surely an ambitious ending! And reaching it is surely a pain..
Simulmondo was an Italian software house from Bologna.
It has produced ~150 games for C64, Amiga, PC and Atari ST.

The Bubbler (Ultimate)

Long lost conversion of late Ultimate game, built from recovered sources and released on a while back. Sadly very slow due to the insistence on using the same drawing methods of the version.

This is an amazingly good port. Especially considering how early it was on the C64 timeline. 👍 I just love the graphic style. 😎

Really like this game, it had some amazing characters, really good GFX for the time, a good collecting and platform game.

Alice in Videoland might be one of the first C64 games I remember seeing on demo at the local computer shop. I think it went in the right direction, with the large, colourful graphics. But the gameplay is a little lacking, IMHO. And it was hard to work out what to do, sometimes..
