#NationalUnicornDay
Just a reason to draw a Unicorn really, also added a lineart just in case any of you would like to color it (print or put as Multiply Layer on Photoshop or any other drawing program)
I'll start; I'm Lex and I'm an illustrator. The best advice I've used is to not shade with black. Instead for darker colors use blue/purple + the multiply feature. it makes your colors pop out more. Mimi was when I first started doing this.
@vampbyte This piece I'm still not quite done with. I love it so much because it's the first time I've tried varying colors on the color wheel and actually did the shading without multiply layers. I've always been afraid of using contrasting colors, but I gave it a shot for once.
Here's the same chomky boi with the multiply layer *actually on* this time
線画の色を暗い赤紫に、髪の影のレイヤーをmultiply、瞳の光のパターン変更
髪のハイライトレイヤーをglow dodgeにして黄、ピンクを足したけど位置は前のが良かったかも

Saw this around and wanted to see how my art has improved, and....I think I've come a long way from scanning and coloring on Multiply layer yay
(and lol someone pls tell me they know D18)
multiply/overlay brushes are hard to use effectively but they can be quite evocative, i love the way they look when layered *-*
@llawliet11 Sorry it took so long to reply. My coloring process isn't that far removed from "Multiply layer on top". I just use masks for more control and sometimes pick my own colors for shading. Here's an example!
There's also this "enhanced" version (just the colored version and the uncolored version merged together via the "Multiply" blend mode):
"Page 45: Murkworms"
"These covert beings of corruption often use their female hosts to grow and multiply, before emerging out in a lustful frenzy, often resulting in unbearable levels of pleasure to the host, leaving them weak for further invasions."

The main shadows are in! I love this part of the process- getting to sculpt shapes and play with soft and hard edges.
Set to multiply in context of the base colors (left) and the layer on its own (right)!
For those of you using the new brushes I recommend switching the watercolor brush's blending mode from multiply to darken. It will still work the same it just won't get really dark after three layers.
