the thing about the thick paint technique is that it offers some leeway for big changes
if i used my usual process for this, i wouldn't have been able to do it
so i sketched the corset on one layer and blocked out the colors on a different one
slapped the new outfit on top

Meet Triton! Named after the son of Poseidon, he is your typical transforming merman, but don't ask him to go swimming with you unless you're willing to get fin-slapped! (He hates transforming when others are around him)
Pro: MC is spunky 🧨, historical setting (worldbuilding), supporting cast 👍, face-slapping villains, 1 villain is redeemed, romance is sweet, MC & ML are badass, Buddhist & karma elements
Con: some villains are stupidly evil/ evil for the sake of being evil (one-dimensional)
But tbh, it is actually not as bad as some negative NU reviewers try to paint it. MC & ML are equally obsessed w/ each other & have chemistry, writing style & worldbuilding are 👍, supporting cast & face-slapping 👍
