Honestly i tried starting with both a sketch and abstract colors and i am comfortable working with either.
Although if a painting gets complex and requires a lot of brain-power I’m usually more comfy starting with lines.

I don't usually do fanart but when I do its usually of characters I adore~ So i have my SDV husband Sebastian, Emily from Corpse Bride, Anthy from Utena, and I did an entire chibi series of the Sailor Scouts ❤️❤️❤️❤️ They are my most favorite pieces of fanart I've done ☺️

Digimon tbh can turn into anything given the right conditions. There’s forms they typically go into/are easier to reach depending but usually the sky’s the limit. Psychemon has a tendency to these guys- the bottom two are the same digimon just a slide form.
