Andrew Wyeth's seascapes.
I had a book full of his art as a kid, it was very inspirational for me.
I think Wyeth is widely known for his realist pieces, like Christina's World and The Uncanny Window, but I personally prefer his more abstract/impressionist artworks...

This majestic seascape is by the Dutch painter, who was born 1620.

In this work, Cuyp depicts the Maas, the busy inland waterway that connected his native Dordrect (visible on the right) to Rotterdam.

Find it on display in our East Galleries.

Seascape 51 by Claire Gill
Claire uses photography and the technique of photomontage to create her images. She aims to create a more intense sense of the coast by layering, juxtaposing and editing original photographic imagery to create a new scene.

Art is...
A shortened version of a Vincent Van Gogh quote.

On a small abstract seascape
that was created from leftover paint on my palette.

I’ve started a new seascape, few more bits of details to add and nearly finished. Really enjoyed this one.

This one has been sitting unfinished in the corner of the studio for months... decided to pull it back out today & have another go....🤔

Willem van de Velde the Younger ( 1633 – 1707 ) was the most famous Dutch painter of seascapes and shipping scenes. Considering his long career, authentic pictures by Van de Velde are rare. The reason for this is probably they took a long time to paint
