Hopping on the #SkillnotTalent tag! I've been working hard to build my drawing skills *every single day* starting at age 12 or so (not to mention putting myself into student loan debt for it 🙃)... artists' skills don't happen out of nowhere!
These are from approx. 2010 vs 2021

my motivation is paper thin and i have a lot of health issues, but i hope to be able to draw more in 2023💖

2013-2022
I have worked my ass off to get to where I am today. I love art so much, I'm so passionate about it, and it has taken years of practice and dedication. Art isn't easy, but I do think anyone can start drawing.
2010 → 2022 Keep practicing and you'll get to where you want to be 💪 #SkillNotTalent
2014->2022
◈Really haven't drawn that much this year at all but thank you to everyone who has stuck by the last year. While I didn't really do anything content-wise, I feel like my social relationships have become bigger and dearer to me! Excited for Next year!◈

Lemme in on that #skillnottalent trend—
2014(?)-2022
Picked a drawing that I was VERY proud of at the time. Over six years of study made a difference!
Amusingly I eventually got both a green cloak and red(ish) hair, it’s funny that what I loved then as a kid stayed the same

2018 vs 2022
I have made the biggest leap in my skill so far in 2022, focusing on deliberate practice on specific areas: Human anatomy, lighting, color, painting skin, liquids,...
Yet there's so much more to learn and i'm excited for that journey.
