Even Double Dragon 3 couldn't keep the Lee brothers' hair/outfit colors straight. The ending image for the arcade version is similar to the boxart for the FC version, while Billy's portrait in the player select screen was lifted from the movie Cyborg starring JCVD.

The cutscene art for the NES version of Double Dragon II seems to be based on prior promo art. The image of Marian is based on the bezel art for the arcade version, while the image of the Lee brothers prior to the final battle is similar to the US boxart for the first game.
