In Gold & Silver's 1997 demo, Delibird was Water/Ice type and named "Gifuto" (Gift). But he was later renamed, revised to Ice/Flying, and made less Santa-like.

Raikou's Gold & Silver sprite was created first, then Ken Sugimori revised that design to makes its official artwork. Looking back, early Raikou was so different, it almost looks like a regional form.

@bureidoworks //He did, but it's pretty low detail since he wasn't a major character and they only needed him for one shot. He was super undeveloped as a character. His revised design wasn't handled by Takeuchi, so that could account for the shift, but he also is a more developed character now
