I have a few monsters for now but as much my art process goes - I frankly do traditional outline first - then to digital as a full blown version.

Here ya go! Fatter outlines with a more cartoonish look

question about akira though

what do you guys think: chair or no chair?

i don’t wanna do both options cause if i’m gonna outline all of akira instead of mainly just the chair i’m not gonna want to do the other way for at least a few days https://t.co/rG4xCqzieL

I'm pretty sure I'm the only person that's like bothered by it so I guess you can keep it, but I think duplicating the outlines to a layer on top would make it look at least slightly better
I made these once by doing that and then applying object edge I think

Careful outlines feel like they take forever but then afterwards everything pops and feels sooooo worth it.

It’s hard to pick up samples- but let me digress! It takes a while for me to do rough sketches, to doing outline sketches for details- then doing the digital art stuffs takes on another level for me to see some corrections myself to tweak appearances

You don't need guidelines to make good art. You don't even need to clean up the lines. Like look at this shit, it's messy and you can see outlines of the head. Do I care? Nope! It looks good to me, art doesn't need to fit any standards, it just needs to fit your own only

I got struck with an idea for a new pattern and this is what I ended up with while trying to keep the general idea of the original :3
Really happy with how it turned out and was wondering what y'all think about it?

(the blue outline is not part of the pattern)

I won't pretend to be a *great* artist or anything, but I'm happy with my "coloring book" style drawing now. Getting the outline right and then flat filling it like below, or occasionally adding textures.

K so recently I’ve been trying out a new colour pallet and brush and lemme just say, I’m OBSESSED????

(Outline isn’t mine, it’s a random outline I found in the coloring section on ibisPaint)

My very first portrait of Elenwë from 2020... that I never ended up finishing. You can also see the very rough outlines of her familiar Tilly 🧚‍♀️#eladrin

With the release of the second season of Shield Hero coming today, here's some fanart of Raphtalia drawn in my style (the one with shading and thick, black outlines).

It's actually my first time trying to color a puffle

I actually like the result And the prototype helped me a lot, although now I would like to add lines or an outline.

Hello everyone 👋 Can you help me make a decision? I’m illustrating a new children’s book and I can’t decide whether to have a black outline to the character or a coloured outline 🤔

Could you please have a look at the two pics and comment on which one you prefer.

Thank you 😎

With a certain anime's second season coming tomorrow, here's a sneak peek of some fanart of an character from said anime. It's actually not done yet as there's a few more parts I gotta add some black outlines to.

Angelic. Darker skins are harder for me because I tend to do 2 light colors, a mid, and a dark, so making the main skin tone the mid-tone only gives me the outline color to shade with. I try to even it out by focusing on the skin highlights instead of the shadows.
