I'd start w/ different eras of Superman. Play to his history. Golden Age, Silver Age, Post Crisis, Rebirth.
Each era has powers and villains featured in it.

Same with "Shaggy and Scooby-Doo Get a Clue," a similar reboot that made the main characters fight crime with superpowers.
@Toastie_TV Sure, here's Lilo! He's a superhero in training who's got wind powers, and while he seems to have a positive attitude at first, the reason why he wants to become a hero has a lot to do with the hard conditions he grew up in. Still not completely happy with his design though :p
