I went back and forth so much with the reds, browns, and skins on these boys to make sure they didn't blend together, I feel you so much. They're basically one goatee away from all being the same human 😂

Mignola takes influence from a number of genres, all the way from Lovecraftian horror to pulp adventure series. The art uses the shadows so well and has such a darkly rich colour palette (some nice reds - who knew.) It also doesn't shy away from comedy, as per the armed monkey.

My first time designing Tempeste! I wanted to give her a bit more contrast in her clothing, which led to switching to the reds and oranges. Her hair has also gotten WAY more out of hand! This was the shortest hairstyle I had chosen for her, the others were shoulder or bob cuts.
