This is so wonderful. And to think these were used as interior art in-between a lot of text inside your average pulp magazine. Not to take away from the stories, but this belongs on the cover or in an art gallery. My take!

Mead Schaeffer. His moody Golden Age pulp-ish works are so atmospheric. There’s a cinematic quality to his still narratives. If I were a cinematographer, I’d likely use his works as reference.
