Actually, there is a serious point to be made about the relation between these films and the multifariousness of cinema. Such encounters remind us that there are many different works, each with its distinct appeal.
Many of Miyazaki's films are on par with this one which makes his status as legend and genius extremely well deserved. It's become a bit of a meme to take shots at him as some joyless old grump but he really is that good.

2014: When Marnie Was There - This is one of those movies that gets better every time you watch it, and genuinely chokes me up every time I watch it. It's a wonderful experience and one of my favorite Ghibli films.
2021: Evangelion 3.0+10 Thrice Upon A Time.
This is no contest, this is a cinematic masterpiece and one of my all-time favorite films ever made. It inspires me endlessly and will continue to do so until the day I die.

I wish Disney would make a new package film. I'm always a sucker for anthology films and I have a soft spot for the wartime films like Three Caballeros, Melody Time and Ichabod, and I wish the studio would do more(1/5)
