Art tip: objects in foreground get greater value scale and higher saturation. Things in background get smaller value scale and less saturation (I know, it’s the basics! 🤷‍♂️)

It seems it is a desaturation, but it's not uniform. It's like the greens are much more desaturated than the reds... I tried desaturaring in photoshop and here's the difference: (Above is the second picture, desaturated in photoshop; below is the adaptive render. )

i made a post about this a while back but i’m mad about it again: realism deserves saturation! it is not all greys and browns! like, compare skyr/m and gt/v’s graphics to r/dr2 and tl0u’s. they all aim for realism, but r/dr2 and t/lou don’t shy away from lush greens and warm reds

2017: How do you choose colors? Large hands! I spiked hair too much. Saturated af, THICC outlines

2019: Thinner outlines. Fixed my anatomical proportions a bit. Less color saturation, better texturing and highlights
