Mario is by one of my favorite characters to play as and so fun to use. Perfectly balanced and easy to pick up but difficulty to master, which makes it so satisfying. Luigi is my second favorite.
(yeah that's my favorite move from Mario😅)

Difficulty is all right, the bosses are fair and fun, and really it is a step up to its predecessor.

It also has its share of moments, though one of my favorites is the Bowser segments, where oftentimes, the game just treated him as a fumbling idiot for fun's sake.

The point of all of this is that devs need to be careful not to let their own fans ruin their games. The same thing is happening to Doom Eternal: the immediate pushback to a strong, distinguishable enemy, the memes about his difficulty, the fan art, and the calls of his removal.
