Day 25 - Beat

This absolute blockhead, I will admit I didn't like him much in my first playthrough, he's a nuissance until he becomes a partner. But he has so many moments in week 3, both comedy and feels, that are so memorable and unique to him.

He gets along with everyone so well and meets so many important people during the game that I would've never expected his character arc to be about being *too* nice without focusing on himself, hope he learns a lot from his inevitable gacha addiction

Day 24 - Fret

Fret is a fairly straight forward character really, a good friend, but also the main motivator of the early game. Without his willingness to just play the game, coupled with Rindo tagging along to the plans, we may have had no game after all.

The endlessly quotable math freak garbage collector is popular for a reason. His unpredictable actions and way of thinking on his way to a single-minded conquest of Shibuya by the most roundabout means possible is and was so fucking cool

Gameplay-wise, I love the flexibility Joshua has after his power-up. Short and spammable combos are consistent, but the secret finisher rewarding the longer combos makes learning him rewarding as heck, including consistently getting fusion stars for nutty dmg

I don't particularly like Haz, too much teenage heartthrob for me, but I like what he implies as a parallel to Joshua

The contrast with Uzuki's obsession with climbing up the ladder is well executed, she stands out a lot thanks to it. She's also the most annoying fight in the game so there's always that to consider lmao

Kariya is one of my fav characters in TWEWY for sure, just the fact that he's strong enough to be an officer but just likes to live free was always very cool to me, truly a homie

Motoi plays the part of the absolute asshole very well, as the influencer character continuing the legacy of Eiji Oji, someone I expected to exist going into NEO.

His way of talking cracks me up because Spanish is funny, and his fight is hilarious and unique

777 is also a very interesting character, as the one Reaper that is an ally from the start, his interactions are always pretty interesting for a side character, like the cough drops and W2D7 sidequests, and I'm happy that Death March got expanded in FR/NEO
