Album-a-day, day 70 - Dancing Up A Storm by The Raes

Here's a prime example of why needs protecting. Welsh-Canadian husband-&-wife team made GREAT disco in the late 1970s, the rights lapsed & now they sell bootlegs on the DL via the site. 🔥❤️

Fiat's habit of routinely offering small coupés was coming to an end by the early 1970s, but the 128 did get its own unique Sport Coupé body, shown in this 1974 UK brochure. At the time the prominent side window upkick saw its styling described as 'cow-hipped'.

Switzerland has had a sizeable anti-nuclear movement since the 1970s, with several plebiscites held on the issue since 1979.

Two posters from 1979 featuring national hero William Tell.

Last year, I learned of a million-dollar pocket watch said to have been made for J.P. Morgan. It vanished in the 1970s, sparking an enduring mystery. I became obsessed w/ solving it. My hunt entangled a sultan and a descendant of Marie Antoinette’s mother: https://t.co/AByQoQhSaS

Hope I'm not too late! Scale modeler and Trek fan (esp. the ships) since the late 1970s, now with my own hobby business making original products. Thinking about doing some spaceships, including a Trek ship or two. Love the new Obena class. Looking for the Trek modelers here!

My Aquaman fandom goes back to the 1970s, so there's...a lot. Some standouts: Peter David's transformation of Aquaman from the most bland member of the Justice League to the Most Barbarian, and the subsequent use of Aquaman in Grant Morrison's JLA run:

RPG Horror Inspiration Month: Day 13
John Holmes Lovecraft Covers
Growing up in the 1970s, these covers haunted me. Something about them unsettled me-- and drew me to steal them out of my sister's room to read and then get terrified by. While Whelan's later art is good...

Recently really interested in this 'missing link' aesthetic between the more strictly 'ultramodern' interiors of the 1960s-early 1970s, and the indulgent, retro-referential 'Deco-Luxe' Art Deco revival interior style. I've been calling it 'Geo-Glam' (Geometric-Glamorous)

Freddie Mercury was, is, & forever shall be a fucking LGBT *ICON*

His talent made stadiums full of straight men sing along to unabashedly gay songs IN THE 1970s, his fashion literally defined the gay/bi men's aesthetic in the 80s. His fierce spirit remains w/us always

1896 - A crowded St James's Cemetery

But it wasn't until the 10th June, 1936 that the last burial took place and it was declared full.

The cemetery was turned into public gardens in the 1970s, but the bodies still remain - all 57,774 of them.

Anyone know where this panel came from? - I got the image from facebook but can’t recall - it certainly looks like ditko from a charlton comic in the 1970s, I’d guess - so I’m gonna say it’s after steve ditko anyway - I’d like to read the rest of the story, if anyone does know...
