I now have two theme music albums for Takemiya Keiko’s Song of the Wind and the Trees plus one for her Variations. They all date to the beginning of the 1980s. The records look hardly played. If only I had a record player to hear the music she selected.

The vehicle in this pic is based on a Honda City Turbo 2, which is an adorable lil' hatchback made in the early 1980s. I chose it because it's the vehicle-mode of the Autobot Skids.

Told Dall-e Mini to give me a Disney weasel. Not exactly what I expected, but surprisingly accurate. Film grain... the deep blue color... they look like something from the 1970s or early 1980s.

Odin

Odin produced some of the best arcade adventures of the 1980s. Robin of the Wood, Nodes of Yesod, Mission AD, Heartland & Arc of Yesod, were all superbly polished, graphically and sonically brilliant and extremely playable top-notch games.

Still a lot of fun to read today; the excitement of a new form of entertainment came across so well in these old publications.

The Batsquatch is a flying cryptid that was allegedly seen near Mount St. Helens in the 1980s. It resembles a flying primate, similar to the Ahool and the Orang Bati of Southeast Asia, and its name is a portmanteau derived from the words "bat" and "Sasquatch."

Starting with a reproduction of the original 1971 theatrical program. I’m not sure that many younger film fans remember film programs/books. These were always available to purchase before a film as a souvenir, common in the UK until the early 1980s.
They’re still used in Japan.

The make-up and costumes of Blade Runner, whilst attempting to be futuristic, are very 1980s. However, the film creates a look of its own and manages to combine film noir with science fiction. It’s a great book and a great film

"I chose Gloria Anzaldúa & Donna Haraway to talk about Kitty because they were her contemporaries in the 1980s. Kitty uses her powers to build coalition. Her power is not so powerful she can do it all herself. She’s intersectional before we’re commonly using that word." -

You ever read about megafauna? You ever look up the giant sloth? These guys were everywhere in the 1980s. I grew up in an apple orchard town, you'd see them there every day. You don't see them around anymore. This was before the Internet. Probably why it's not more widely known.

Near 4k scan of Space Thunder Kids' US cover. Many don't know that this film is actually not an original, but a compilation of over 8 South Korean animations from the early 1980s til the late 1980s. I always loved the art on this cover and wonder who did it - whoever they are.
