Doodle of the Day: Two Women with Hats in Church (c. 1920’s), Gouache on wove paper, Gwen John (1876- 1939). Gwen John was a Welsh born artist who worked and lived in France. This work uses simple line work and almost ‘block’ colours to give a sense of form to the figures.

New Vs Old: 1st image, a revision of the 2nd image that I drew years and years ago in 2015 or so. Back when “Feathered T. Rex” discourse was still fresh. For the revision, I combo’d elements of the past and present depictions (retro, 90’s, 2010’s, 2020’s, etc.) into the design.
