Everyone draws like a sum total of their influences. Stephen E Gordon’s style is just one of many approaches to stylizing American comic art in an appealing animatable way (which inevitably includes anime influence), that he’s been drawing like since the 80’s.

Proud to be reclaiming the word & taking away its pejorative meaning & the power it had in the mouths of those who taunted & teased me as a student in Ontario schools in the 1970’s & 80’s.

Hello there!
My names Tan or Alzirr and I’m a Jackal who’s sorta permanently trapped in a TV in the 1980’s. Or so I’ve been told… I’ve been broadcasting out of my station for as long as I can remember, and I mainly play games and draw art with viewers! Tune in if you’d like 📼

Zeck’s covers were my favorite part of Captain America comics in the 80’s. This is Kieron Dwyer on interiors and I wholeheartedly agree with you.

Judge Dredd: The Complete Case Files Vol. 4 by John Wagner, Mike McMahon, Brian Bolland, etc. - Some real good Dredd stories here. Wagner’s at the top of his game, and these stories are also a showcase for some of the most talented British comic artists of the 80’s.

Style experiments. My buddy and professional collaborator is doing some awesome stuff with some old school coloring so i gave it a spin too. I used the Marvel color guide from the 80’s. Made a material in CS. Stream: https://t.co/KHgxheivMa

This Prince Akira Tron mash up I did inspired a story that I’m developing for my Ghost Metal Webtoon comic. It won’t have but it will be a wink and a nod to the 80’s. Treatment is all done and character designs are all set all that’s needed is for me to write the script.

Reminds me of this panel from Marvel’s Secret Wars from the 80’s. Logan’s “Terrorists-! That’s what the big army calls the little army!” line to Cap blew my mind. I think I was 13 when the book came out.
Their exchange in this issue always stuck with me.

Day 14; 80’s. I decided to go Wild with color on this one 🧜🏻‍♀️ Also to add to the brightness, I did a vaporwave edit for the heck of it 🐬

This bowdlerization was done by the artist Daniele da Volterra, henceforth known as Il Braghettone, 'the breeches maker'. The frescoes were only partly restored to their original stage in the 1980’s. 5/6
