Painting 8 was inspired by some of Goya's aquatint pieces, such as "The Sleep of Reason Produces Monsters", mostly in composition & contrast, as well as the abstract subject matter.

This is an etching and aquatint from art school days in the '60s showing a boxing match (probably Floyd Patterson from a newspaper cutting). I only printed a couple of proofs, not an edition. I kept the steel plate until it got badly rusted.
