On this day in 2005, SoulCalibur III was released for PS2 in NA.

It was 1st console release as this time, Japan got the port last. Also, SC3 was the last SC to be released on arcades.

The story is set in 1590 AD just as SC2 & SC4, and SC3 introduced Character Creation mode.

If Capcom ever does revive Darkstalkers, I hope they get the Skullgirls or Cuphead devs to make it since the squash and stretch cartoon artstyle is a good portion for what made Darkstalkers unique in arcades. It wouldn’t feel right if they used 3D models.

That said, I was still a huge fan of Karate Champ at the arcades. There's something very particular about its dual-stick controls that was so satisfying once you'd got your head around the initial complexity of the number of moves at your disposal. 🤓

On this day 5 years ago, Bob was added as a playable character in Tekken 7: Fated Retribution. Bob was the first post-launch character added to the game after the original Fated Retribution release at arcades.

I was already addicted to Super Sprint at the arcades. So when Super Off-Road came out, it was a natural progression. 👍 Nice challenging tracks, though the AI is very rubber-band-y I understand — discouraging you from over-performing too much. 🤔
