If one were to take a look at the history of Visual Novel anime, what are some particularly notable or interesting examples?
Obviously there’s the big mainstream hits like Fate/Stay Night, Clannad, Steins;Gate and Higurashi but like what are some other ones that stand out
We need more big name studios doing Visual Novel adaptations. Steins;Gate, Clannad, Higurashi and Fate are proof that they can be done well and also be highly profitable. After there overwhelming success in the 00s I would have expected the trend to continue into the 2010s but...
1.古河渚(CLANNAD,CLANNAD 〜after story〜)

I never talked about YU-NO.
It's a great story.
I think it's one of the most important games in the medium.
You simply wouldn't see works like Clannad, Steins; Gate, and Little Busters without this work.
YU-NO is the blueprint for how visual novels would be moving forward.

The jank, DIY nature of the game didn’t turn me away at all, if anything it sucked me in. I’d played other VNs before Higurashi, like Katawa Shoujo and CLANNAD, but they both failed to keep my attention while Higurashi commanded it. I knew what VNs generally felt like. Not this.
