The downside is that, for whatever reason, the 90s was also an era where corporations have become obsessed with modernizing their iconic characters to be hip and trendy, as a desperate attempt to pander to the modern generation.

Disney Channel may not be around in the US for much longer, but they're the only network that's doing something right with their cartoons.

Where most of these shows are original & not based on an existing IP. With great characters & lore to keep all audiences interested.

I remember watching the cartoon "Nocturna" (2007) as a kid and wanting to be an animator. At one time I even followed that dream and made little puppet cartoons. Of course, now I gave up that goal, but sometimes I animate small elements of my work as entertainment.
