Thought I'd share some recent client work.
If you're in DC, you'll find some of my new #animals at the National Zoo!

The wind is hard from the west,
a skein of voices in it, thin but clear
as curlews’. Their songs’ rising
crests the brown moor and flies.

April 22nd - Earth Day

Reflection. Wild-fowl. Call of the Curlew. A ruffling beyond the bramble thorns. An opening of light beyond the darkness.

The tide rises, the tide falls,
The twilight darkens, the curlew calls;
Along the sea-sands damp and brown
The traveller hastens toward the town,
And the tide rises, the tide falls.

I thought I’d show the completed curlew - the first pic had an amazing response, so hello and thanks to all my new followers! Hope you enjoy my creative endeavours 😊 “Little Minch Curlew” painted on a section of an old OS map on an 8x8 inch wood panel.

It was Wader Conservation World Watch event this past weekend. November is not the best period shorebird-wise in Hungary, so it was pleasing to find good numbers of Lapwings and Curlews in my favourite area in Kiskunság National Park. Here are a few sketches I made. #wcww8

Early arctic migrants ↔️ NO breeding success! A photographer read the metal ring code of this Curlew sand in Ukraine. It's still early to head south, and cover the last 5.8 k km to reach the #Bijagós.

Two curlews have flown, and two are now available to buy here ... https://t.co/OvSmC3OG4i
Elsdon moors the other day ( icicles still in the bog pools !) maybe 2 pair of Curlew, a scattering of Red grouse - not a managed Grouse moor so not overrun which is good! Small bird populations were decent but sadly larger birds depleted in numbers. Have a good night all 👍

Congratulations to Hilary Kington, whose poignant woodcut print, highlighting the plight of the curlew, has been chosen as The Artist Award winner in this year's David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation, Wildlife Artist of the Year exhibition. Read more here https://t.co/SfGYatfVdP
A glorious day on the Elsdon moors last weekend and so lovely to see plenty of the moorland birds doing well (even a few Curlew !) So little time for art but managed a few w/colours of Wheatear. Have a good night all, thank you for any feedback 👍 ps First Cuckoo heard !
