I've also been thinking about larger sprites for more acting potential. Mostly wanting mouth space. It's tricky because I have such a fondness for the SMW sprite that any deviation is wigging me out.

The early Mr. Hedgehog designs flirted with different quill amounts and shapes too, before they were eventually simplified to the iconic shape we're used to today.

IMO, there's nothing wrong with some deviation when a situation calls for it! The movies did that, and it was fun.

Incredible and ordinary. I think diversity of skin tone is incredibly important for representation and while many dark-skinned ocs are pretty/stunning etc, they don’t need to be to have value because diversity is inherently important- especially deviations from beauty standards
