And another one down! Another enjoyable Ys game, which set the foundation for the Ark/Felghana/Origin combat system. This one has some balancing issues due to items being usable in battle and some general jank, but it's a fun time overall.

9) Ys Seven - Adol's at it again. After beating Oath in Felghana last year, it took me a while to get through Ys7 this year (Jan-May). Very typical Ys fare, which still makes it a good experience. A few standout characters, and a pretty easy grind 6/10

Ys 8 Lacrimosa of Dana
I only finished this today but boy...this almost beat origin and felghana. The combat is super satisfying, if not as percise and challenging as Felghana. The characters are all great. The story gets a bit convoluted near the end but i still like it.

Ys Oath in Felghana
The absolute best game in the series, the story and characters are fantastic and so is the voice acting for ps2 era voice work. The gameplay is so satisfying and there are just no flaws in this game to me. I love this game so much.

Another Ys game down. Napishtim wasn't my favourite but it did have some cool bosses and areas (and hey I recognised the I Wanna be the Overlord overworld theme!). I can definitely see where Falcom improved the system in Felghana and Origin. Only Seven & Lacrimosa to go... 🥳

Starting with Ys: The Oath in Felghana! Favourite Ys game so far out of the 5 I've played. Great boss fights (mostly), feeling very satisfying to execute correctly. Hard mode really didn't hold back though, so I'm curious what Nightmare and Inferno are like. Maybe one day...

Beating CrossCode must've put me in an action RPG mood because I bombed through Ys Memories of Celceta in like 3 days. Really fun combat, although going to Oath of Felghana will feel weird again. Characters were fun too. This'll probably be the last game I beat in 2020? Maybe.

Finished the 3rd ys game ys oath in felghana. Definitely my new favorite of the the three I played so far. Added even more things from what made the 2nd game great. Next game on my ys journey is Ys Memories of Celceta.
