R.I.P. Ken Kelly.
His passing just came to my attention. I love his fantasy art and spent hours pouring over it. You could really see Frazetta's influence in his work. And he did study under him for a time.

Happy 76th birthday to the incredible Ken Kelly! One of Warren's most prolific cover artists of the 70s (this is the original art for CREEPY he's also painted numerous LP jackets for rock acts like KISS and Manowar. And he's the nephew of Frazetta's late wife Ellie. Cheers!

Frank Frazetta's Ace McCoy Daily Comic Strip, dated 1-9-1953 (McNaught, 1953). Ace McCoy may like Kiro, but we really like the way Frank Frazetta draws her! Those first two panels are positively smoldering! Crafted in ink and Zipatone over graphite on Bristol board.

Frank Frazetta's heroic characters and fantasy compositions have become really important to me in the past few years. I find myself constantly referencing his work.

Konami's legendary for its NES box art "homage."

Frank Frazetta's "The Norseman" inspired the box art for Castlevania. But Castlevania II just straight up plagiarizes the cover of AD&D's Ravenloft.
