The Phantom by Lee Falk was one on my favorite comic heroes as a kid. He even predates Superman.

Read newest issue of the phantom and two thumbs ways up! 👍👍 great art, action and story. The phantom fits so well as he is like those conscious objectors who volunteered to become battlefield medics. Only able to fight non lethally.
