First up and holding fast at No.10 is the that inspired my first ever oil painting - Michael Hague's Bilbo from Riddles in the Dark (1984). My own version featured the same red waistcoat, the same green cloak, but, sadly, not the same artistic skill (1/10)

Despite helping found the Hague School with his two brothers, Matthijs himself eventually drifted away from its classically realistic style, embracing a softer, more modern approach. He died 5 days after his 78th birthday. 🎨

Van Gogh's portrait from 1882, is of Adrianus Jacobus Zuyderland, who lived at the Dutch Reformed Almshouse for Men and Women in The Hague. Adrianus was a frequent sitter and would pose for Van Gogh in return for ‘a few quarters for an afternoon or morning.'

9. Rasalhague! Dragon of Universe. Controls pretty much everything, has big "ara ara" energy. Kind and sweet unless provoked when she's ready to set the hell lose and WILL destroy your galaxy by eating it.

Tolkien did not agree with me, but I think the chapter with Pan in 'The Wind in the Willows' is one of the most charming and I absolutely adore the concept of blessing, memory and remembrance Graham brings home. It's a pity they usually remove it in abridged editions.
