No.002 — Ivysaur
This is only the second Pokémon in my drawing through the original Pokédex journey and already, it’s been a struggle. My pen refused to work when I was trying to color… But tbh, at this point, technology not cooperating with me is expected. 😅
Venusaur is a slight step down from Ivysaur for me, it’s still great but the flower always felt a little off. It’s just a bit too big and the crown-like structure never looked quite right to me. Still, you’ve gotta love a big burly dicynodont/dinosaur flower creature. 7/10
Ivysaur takes everything I like about Bulbasaur and makes it better. It’s a little more complex, a little “cooler”, but still feels believable as a fictional creature. The palette is hugely improved here too, the colours contrast so nicely! 9/10
