3. My favorite PS2 RPG is Romancing SaGa (or RS: Minstrel Song in Japan). It was critiqued at the time for being too open-ended and confusing to newcomers. I loved the freeform exploration, the combat, and the soundtrack.

but the game was garbage. no combos, like at all (the 2nd hit will always whiff), awkward corner game and frame data. Hit boxes are hilarious and the boss chars are locked by a code that I don't even know works in the Western releases (Dead Dance in japan).
