Beyond was sorta the first means I had of expressing my own queerness, by writing gay characters. It means a lot to me for that, and every time I write something I put LGBT+ characters into it. I don't think I'm capable of writing an all non queer story!

The Back o' Beyond is a slow burn romance about two unwilling pirates trying to prevent the crew they were forced into from finding out the secret to immortality.

Also they're both huge dorks, so that's cool.

DuBois (right) and Dak (left) would ABSOLUTELY go to Pride. Du would engage in more of the raunchy side of things, while Dak would go because he'll take any opportunity to loudly and proudly broadcast his gayness. They would definitely end up making out in public.

D13 - My protagonist Kazma is a complete disaster. He's a spicy goth boy who's died a few too many times and has what you could call 'an incurably awful personality'. He's probably going to end up stabbing a child. I love him.

This is Nate, my weird little gremlin. He eats raw fish which is pretty gross, but he's also an adorable doof. He likes knitting and beaches, but is afraid of the sea. (Currently having to get over that...) Something I love about him is that he's short. (5'5")

I struggle with art, particularly anatomy. Hands are probably the hardest thing for me, but I feel like I've come a long way from where I started at least. There's still a long way to go though! This is a panel I had a lot of trouble with.

Day 9!

The thing I'm struggling with the most is finding the time! I work 45-60 hours a week at the day job (yay salary! 😐) and we're still releasing books every 4 months. Not to mention I've been sick so much. Getting a new IP out there is hard!

This story was written with the intention of being a gay romance. Whilst in some ways it IS the plot, in other ways it doesn't matter all that much. This isn't a perfectly accepting world, but the pirates don't care. They dislike the main characters for other reasons. D4
