Here's the cover scan of a bootleg Ryu knight DVD set I ordered.
Really nice art used on the VHS, Laserdisc, and some stationary if I'm not mistaken!
1997 Anime - Laserdisc Vol. 4
Artists: Shichiro Kobayashi (小林七郎) &
Yoshihiko Umakoshi (馬越嘉彦)
Really like how much additional detail the Victory Gundam laserdisc covers give to the Zanscare suits, they're a really underrated mobile suit aesthetic
Lum knew how to make an entrance. And the way they treated her prismatic hair?? I'm so in love. It's perfect.
(Trivia: the hair is inspired by the rainbow effect on the surface of Laserdiscs. Both the tech and the manga came out in '78)
1997 Anime - Laserdisc Vol. 10
Art: Yoshihiko Umakoshi (馬越 嘉彦) & Shichiro Kobayashi (小林 七郎)
Tokusatsu LaserDisc jackets have the best designs (or at least some nice high-rez photos). The DVD/Blu-ray photo collage stuff is often quite nice, but these are art
I tried restoring this beautiful artwork of Cervantes and Giant Robo 2, which I hadn't seen before today. According to the person who uploaded the artwork, it was originally included with the laserdisc release.
Left is the original, right is the restoration attempt by me.
Previously, the pilots have only been sourced from a telecine transfer done in 1989 for the "Secret File" LaserDisc. This transfer is very bad, and exhibits several issues that plagued anime transfers of the era, such as extreme frame blending and ghosting
1997 Anime - Laserdisc Vol. 9
Artist: Shinichiro Kobayashi (小林七郎) &
Yoshihiko Umakoshi (馬越嘉彦)

#Balto standee from video stores advertising the release on VHS and Laserdisc. It is in 3 pieces and doesn't look like it has ever been assembled
K78L-1028 / Zillion: Burning Night [OAV] (1988) / Production I.G. - Tatsunoko - Takayuki Goto / Laserdisc Jacket + Bonus [300dpi]: A fairly rare disc these days, with two pieces of fantastic art on the front & back. "Sayonara No Matchikado" by Risa Yuuki, what a tune...
Revolutionary Girl #Utena, L'Apocalypse: 2, Laserdisc & VHS , Sept 26, 1997. Art by Shinya Hasegawa.
The Kaoru twins are the hosts of the second volume of Utena, and the 1999 Art of UTENA book reveals several of Hasegawa's test runs of the cover! (Caution: Most exclude Kozue.)
My Laserdisc Collection: "Kamen Rider Amazon" Volume 1. Toei Video. LSTD-01219. Double disc gatefold set containing Episodes 01-08. CLV. NTSC. Publishing Date: August 21, 1995. MSRP: ¥9,000.
@OZKai LaserDisc Puru? haha
[I believe Pull is used before this in a January 1987 Newtype issue.]
