Going from 60 polygons to 600 polygons is a large increase in visual fidelity
But going from 60000 to 600000 barely makes a difference, there are diminishing returns at some point

Texture quality can increase, lighting can improve, but performance is so much more important

I've been studying a new art style recently and brushed up on lighting techniques (ie ambient occlusion/shadows)

I also found new brushes and I like the texture !

Lighting in cell shading is simplified, no smooth gradients, shadows are mostly just hard edged areas on an object.

Full rendering is moreso where it actually tries to emulate more realistic lighting.
