There's a little mistake, I'm sorry! OTL

This happens when you move the multiply layer in the last minute 🥲

here's how I separated the mouth for my navi 2.0 model~! All the inner mouth parts are clipped to the back mouth part (the red circle)

The purple shadow is a multiply layer that goes over the teeth ^^

Also funny thingy, i have the habit of never being able to finish my armor designs on paper, when i start working on them digitally for some reason the details start multiplying.

2) If you're shading skin, try to use a dark red for shadows rather than black on mode multiply, this should give a warmer feel & more human

If you're on Procreate, learn how to clipping mask, alpha lock, reference and experiment with the blend modes (add, overlay, multiply)

a simple way to add soft shading is to focus on “ambient occlusion”! essentially, wherever the corners meet there will be a dark spot where light can’t get to. for this effect, i added a multiply layer, with a colour similar to the lineart i filled in these dark spots.

trying the lineart as a multiply layer, feels weird tho

Added another multiply layer over the whole image to try and balance the lighting, this is very very subtly different but I feel like it looks better :3

Thank you! I used to do the grayscale thing, but that could dull colors and it's a lot of work to get the colors I want. What I do is fill the local colors then make a multiply layer and shade it. then you merge both and paint over it color picking the new colors.

Oh of course! I normally use them for texture and use them for highlights and shadows! I color pick the Shadow or highlight and use the screen tones there! You can put them on different blending modes and lower the opacity too! IE: Exclusion, Multiply, and Overlay!

I end up putting a lot of multiply and layers of shading until it's ugly.

I still need to improve my shading skills.
