I'm liking this C64 palette. 👍
The default VICE palette looks too bright without scan-lines. The Pepto-NTSC one I'd settled on was a bit drab. 🤔 I like the Hoxs64 colours (and that I can get a perfect 50Hz out of it) but I keep coming back to VICE with its drag+drop support. 🤓

And Blood Money is another fun one.
The big HAM image is PAL .. I think.
All the intro stuff is standard NTSC 320x200 screens.
The title/credits screens are NTSC, but shorter by a dozen pixels.
The gameplay play-area is NTSC size, with an extra 32 pixels of score-panel added. 🤔

This only got me so annoyed because it was the same with most DMA games. Lemmings 2? (Excellent game.)
The DMA logo is a PAL-size screen.
The intro is NTSC, but vertically centred.
The title screen is NTSC (not centred.)
The gameplay is NTSC.. plus two pixels. 😮

So, serious question, when did Australia start doing R4 NTSC DVDs? Is this even allowed? I get that 'PAL60' is a thing but I'm not really in touch with this, but I've noticed some AU companies are doing 480i 29.97hz Region 4 DVD releases of some classic TV shows?

When I was a kid, and had a real C64, it was the early PAL model, with slightly different palette to all later revisions. So I've never been entirely happy with the default emulator colours. The first thing I do with VICE is change the palette to Pepto NTSC Sony. I like that one.

It's wordy AND lame. Lacks the lively implications that a blatant call to action has. It's dull.

Although, despite its busyness, I do prefer the PAL box art over NTSC-U, though. It's a very rich & beautiful image.

Right now, I'm trying to get some good quality footage at the correct frame rate captured. (I borked that one, and played in NTSC mode on a 50Hz display. But it's only obvious on the title screen.) 😄 Building up my recording skills..
