sloppily put together some examples. just so you know I do use the vector line art for the inks because it works with any brush. actual sketch paper for the sketch stuff that I will scan in (more fun for me). I used old color art, still same for full character.
Contemplating on life choices for doing all that tiny details with a paintbrush.

@Ratuno_Aoi Thank you! The painting process just takes a little time. I start by placing clusters of hair as faces. Then I draw in the flow with a hairbrush. I add a bright color on top with the same hairbrush. Finally, I add shadows using a multiply layer.
