I really enjoyed most of these films, but I feel Tom and Jerry:The Movie would’ve been better if they made the 90’s movie closer to the charm and slapstick,over-the-top feel of the original 40’s cartoon skits and let Tom and Jerry be themselves and not have them talk.

TL;DR, A lot of the stuff that Sonic does actually feels more inspired and in tuned with Superheroes, or Anime, not goofy, silly, slapstick cartoons, the only thing Sonic got inspired from those cartoons was the design CHOICE, not the philosophy behind it.

IPs like Mario & Crash have a very exaggerated slapstick vibe (especially Crash), but Sonic goes for a more actiony, semi realistic, and well, shonen isk vibe.
