#Scythians: The Ancient Horselords Of The Eurasian Steppe
https://t.co/4Z6SQz7lBB
Illustrations by Kabardian artist Hamid Savkuev for V. Livanov's story "Agnia, Daughter of Agnia. A Tale of the Scythians".
Happy to share this painting from 5(!) years ago I did as an assignment for mentorships
The painting itself is about the Scythians, (Eurasian nomads from ancient times), endulging in a hallucinogenic ritual. I am excited to revisit this theme for my worldbuilding.

The Scythians, a group of ancient tribes of nomadic warriors, originally lived in what is now southern Siberia. Their culture flourished ca 900 BC to 200 BC, they had extended their influence all over Central Asia – from China to the northern Black Sea. https://t.co/3TD7gbqEzV
Interesting genetic study of Scythians. It supported Kazakh steppe origin w influx of admixture frm Mongolia and Iranian population of Turan and Iran. Larger influx of East Asian gene again frm Mongolia during Xiongnu-Xianbei period in Iron Age. https://t.co/gNK6mRhrwS
Just when I thought I was doing good… Kaytie destroyed my highest score in Imperium with the Qin Dynasty. She got 103 - and I thought I was doing good at 82…
Send pats on the back.
My SCYTHIANS will return 💪🏽
The scythians were known throughout antiquity as hard drinkers who thoroughly despised the practice of diluting wine.
