This will bring us to the cover of this manhwa where the two of them are holding each other which shows that they need each other. Sehyuk being Ideun's safe haven and Ideun being Sehyuk's light in this madness.
Ideun has nothing to hide. He is not afraid to be tested. He is putting himself out there. He is only doing all of these to protect Sehyuk and guide Sehyuk in each step of unveiling the mystery.
That's why I think of all the conditions that Ideun will propose to Sehyuk, he chose to sleep with him--it is his way of making Sehyuk remember their past that Sehyuk has long forgotten.
In detective genres, the suspect is usually the LEAST suspicious person, the "most unlikely". I think Sehyuk suffered from Retrograde Amnesia where a person cannot recall memories that were formed before the event that caused the amnesia.
Ideun also asked Sehyuk to trust him because he is doing this for his sake, which is the biggest mystery in this story. It is clear that Ideun is entangled in all of these but how is SEHYUK relevant?
During Sehyuk's meeting, it was mentioned that Sungmin has no criminal records but Sehyuk knows that that's not true. He then remembered Ideun telling him not to touch his family and so Sehyuk just told them to focus on Ideun as the prime suspect.
Sehyuk also asked Ideun who is the person who was trying to kill him. Now let's go back to his family. Sungmin, the rapist, is not a real son of the CEO, making him a bastard son from a different man.
To be a bastard son, violated in his safe space, and being involved in 2 murder cases sure took a toll on his mental health and now he only has Sehyuk as his salvation to the point that if Sehyuk will drop the case, he will kill himself because there will be nothing left for him.
Ideun is always asking Sehyuk where will he go once he finished his testimonies--will he go to prison or will he be sent home? A home is our safe place so Ideun not wanting to go home meant that he is not safe in his own home.
Ideun seems to know Sehyuk very well and even knows his schedule and the passcode of his house. It is unlikely that Sehyuk told him the passcode, even the young detective was shocked at the thought of Sehyuk giving away his passcode to a murder suspect.
Ideun then asked Sehyuk probing questions which implied that Sehyuk entirely missed the most important detail of the incident.
